French Renewables Firm Voltalia Expands Tunisian Portfolio with 132MW Solar Project

Voltalia, the French renewable energy developer, has secured rights to build a new 132-megawatt solar power plant in southeastern Tunisia. The “Wadi” project will be constructed in the Gabès region.

Strategically, the new site is located adjacent to the 139MW Menzel Habib solar project, which Voltalia acquired last March. The company plans to break ground on the Wadi facility in 2027, targeting grid connection and commercial operation by 2028.

This latest acquisition significantly bolsters Voltalia’s near-term pipeline in the country. The company now reports a total project portfolio in Tunisia approaching the construction phase of roughly 400 megawatts.
