The Tunisian-Libyan Joint Trade Committee was inaugurated on Saturday morning, December 7, 2024, under the chairmanship of Minister of Trade and Export Development, Samir Abid for the Tunisian side and Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Mohamed Al-Hweij, for the Libyan side, in the presence of high-level delegations from both countries and the participation of a delegation of businessmen and the President of the Tunisian Union for Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA).
The Minister of Trade and Export Development stressed that this committee is the ideal space to overcome the difficulties and resolve the issues that prevent the achievement of the sought-for economic integration and assessment of these relations within a comprehensive and integrated vision, as well as following up on the progress made in the implementation of the recommendations and proposals that were agreed upon during the joint ministerial meetings held in Tunis and Tripoli during the previous period and exploring new ways and opportunities to promote economic and trade relations to levels that achieve mutual benefit, thus contributing to the realization of the high directives of the leaderships of the two countries.
The two sides seek to further develop and deepen their cooperation in various fields in order to increase the volume of bilateral trade, establish investment projects and fruitful partnerships between economic actors and network interests in light of the opportunities available on both sides.
