Omani Presence at the 25th Arab Radio and Television Festival

The 25th Arab Radio and Television Festival, held in the Republic of Tunisia from June 23 to 25, 2025, under the theme “A Space for Encounter and Creativity,” featured a variety of activities. His Hilal bin Abdullah Al-Sanani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Tunisia, emphasized the importance of Omani participation in media events, as part of the festival’s activities. These activities were made possible through the cooperation of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) and the Tunisian Ministry of Cultural Affairs.

He highlighted the continued involvement of the private sector—represented by Al Wisal Radio—in the festival competitions for the third consecutive year. Such participation enriches Omani contributions and enhances the visibility of Omani media productions on both Arab and international platforms, particularly in prestigious events like the Arab Radio and Television Festival.

Abdullah Al-Sanani also praised the distinguished role played by Omani media in delivering refined content that elevates public taste and contributes positively to the Arab media landscape—an approach that has been lauded by many figures in past editions of the festival. He encouraged continued commitment to the values and quality exemplified by Omani media.

Furthermore, the ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Tunisia noted that under the wise leadership of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Oman is advancing in media development, upholding freedoms, and promoting high-quality productions deeply rooted in the nation’s rich cultural and civilizational heritage. He emphasized that culture and media are vital components of Oman’s diplomatic efforts.

In this context, he pointed to the formalization of media practice through the Omani Media Law, issued under Royal Decree No. 85/2024. This legislation marks a significant step in organizing and developing media activities in alignment with the Sultanate’s Vision 2040.
