“Je Ne Veux Pas” – New song by Farès Landoulsi, recorded in Hollywood, shot in Tunis

Farès Landoulsi returned to Tunis to join the 11th cohort at the National Tunisian Theatre’s acting school and to shoot the music video

“After months of hard work following my move to Hollywood, I found myself inspired to reinterpret one of the relevant tracks from Proksima Music. This follows a successful poetic collaboration in France, and now a new song, “Je Ne Veux Pas” (I Don’t Want To), is born. Featuring multiple languages—Tunisian, English, French, and Hebrew—Farès Landoulsi said in a statement to TunisianMonitorOnline, delivering a profound collaboration that takes us on a journey. His heart resonates through his voice, offering a gift of peaceful rebellion and a longing to restore humanity’s natural essence.

The song unfolds like a character moving fluidly across languages, critiquing the present reality of each cultural context, even singing in Hebrew to say, “I refuse to be humiliated by this beast that fails to see my beauty.”

“I recorded the track at Hollywood’s Paramount Recording Studio, but I’ve since returned to Tunis to join the 11th cohort at the National Tunisian Theatre’s acting school and to shoot the music video, which was released yesterday (Thursday, October 24, 2024) on YouTube and my Instagram, said Tunisian star Fares Landoulsi, stressing “ Truthfully, my team and I chose to shoot on a low budget. As a result, our “making-of” footage captures a raw approach, filmed with a phone flashlight and a simple camera.”

In this connection, Fares Landoulsi highlighted that “In these times, investing more in my first music video felt less significant than the need to stand with those suffering.”

Performing the song ‘Je ne veux pas’ in multiple languages (Tunisian, English, French, Hebrew), Fares Landoulsi offers us a magnificent collaboration that transports us. His heart is in his voice. A gift, a pacified revolt, an aspiration to rediscover the humanism of nature.
