Cairo International Film Festival, presided over by actor Hussein Fahmy, deeply mourns the loss of the legendary global star Robert Redford, one of the most prominent figures in American and world cinema. Redford left an indelible mark on the history of the seventh art, both as an actor, director, and producer.
For decades, Redford stood as a symbol of creativity and passion for cinema, leaving behind a lasting artistic legacy that extended from the silver screen to the founding of the Sundance Film Festival, which became a global platform supporting independent cinema and showcasing new talent.
In this regard, Hussein Fahmy, President of Cairo International Film Festival, stated:
“With the passing of Robert Redford, we lose one of the towering figures of cinema who believed in the power of art to bring change and succeeded in placing independent cinema on the global map.
