World President of Junior Chamber International Alexander Tio visits Tunisia

President Béji Caïd Essebsi, received Tuesday at the Carthage Palace, World President of the Junior Chamber International (JCI), Indonesian Alexander Tio, who is visiting Tunisia as a first destination to strengthen relations between the world organization and its national counterparts in a number of Arab countries.

In a statement to media following his meeting with the Head of State, Tio praised Tunisia’s commitment to strengthening the role of youth in the development of society, commending JCI’s leadership role in Tunisia in creating a new generation of young leaders.

The meeting was attended by Director General of the Tunisian Institute for Strategic Studies, Neji Jalloul, and the JCI National President in Tunisia, Bilel Magdoud.

Alexander Tio was elected World President of JCI International for 2019 and takes over from his predecessor, 2018 President Marc Brian Lim from the Philippines.

JCI is a global youth organization that originates from the United States and aims to empower youth through leadership and community service programmes.
