Foreign direct investment into Tunisia climbed to roughly 1.93 billion Tunisian dinars ($660.28 million) during the first half of 2026, marking an 11.5% increase compared to the same stretch in 2025, according to official data released Wednesday by the Tunisian Foreign Investment Promotion Agency.
The latest figures underscore a robust vote of confidence from international capital, with direct investments dominating the inflow landscape. The manufacturing sector emerged as the undisputed powerhouse, capturing a commanding 72% share of total investments, while the energy sector followed with a 19% stake, the agency detailed in its statement.
Beyond industrial and energy plays, portfolio investments staged a remarkable comeback, skyrocketing by 81.3% year-over-year to reach 17.7 million dinars—a clear signal of heightened financial market activity.
In its release, the agency emphasized that the sustained upward trajectory reflects enduring investor trust in the North African nation, particularly within high-value-added industries. The data also spotlight Tunisia’s ongoing strategic push to solidify its reputation as a premier investment destination in the region, leveraging regulatory reforms and sector-specific incentives to attract diversified capital flows.
