ONH Prize for Tunisian Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil: 4 gold medals awarded

Twelve medals including four gold and eight certificates of encouragement were awarded for the four categories of olive oil: Fruity ripe, Fruity light green, Fruity medium green, Fruity intense green were awarded during the fourth edition of the competition the Tunisian Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil competition organised by the National Olive Oil Board (ONH).

71 samples were presented by participants including oil mills, export companies or domains coming from different olive-growing regions of Tunisia.

Triomphe Thuccabor with the Chetoui variety of the Ben Ismail reserve in Toukaber region won the gold medal.  

Olivna of the Sayali variety from Kef, Olissey 100% Sayali from Jedaida, Nour Al Ain Chemlaly variety from Sfax also won the gold medal.

Each lot went thoroughly through tasting by the professional jury of the ONH according to the standards of the competition of the International Olive Oil Council (IOC) on February  9 and 10 2021.

The National Olive Oil Board of Tunisia was created in 1962 as an interprofessional public enterprise with an industrial and a commercial vocation.

 It is the essential authority which supervises the activities of the Tunisian olive oil sector through supporting, guiding and assisting olive growers in order to guarantee better quality and to enhance productivity and also regulating the local market.

Its world-class laboratories accredited by the International Olive Council ensure the tests of all olive oils intended for export.
