A journey through miniatures, thought, music, cinema and an opportunity to foster communication and understanding between peoples
The Iranian-Tunisian Cultural Week, a cultural event that returns after a ten-year absence, was inaugurated on Friday evening at the Ennejma Ezzahra Palace in Sidi Bou Said, according to Hedi Ajili, cultural counsellor at the Iranian Embassy in Tunis, during the opening ceremony attended by several diplomats, intellectuals, culture and media.
The event, which runs until the 12th of this month, is organized by the Mediterranean Arab Music Center “Ennejma Ezzahra ” and the Iranian Cultural Center in Tunis. Its organizers wanted it to be a space for cultural exchange between the two brotherly peoples and an opportunity to bring them closer together through various artistic and intellectual events.

In his address on the occasion, Iranian Ambassador to Tunisia Mir Massoud Hosseinian emphasized his keenness further to consolidate cultural exchange between his country and Tunisia, stressing that this type of initiative promotes building bridges of communication and understanding between peoples.
For her part, Salwa Hafedh, director of the Arab and Mediterranean Music Center, reviewed the various activities of this distinguished cultural event, which ranged from intellectual and scientific seminars that discuss the importance of the common heritage between Iran and Tunisia and the place of women in modern society, to training workshops in the arts of calligraphy and miniatures, in addition to Tunisian and Iranian musical performances in spirituality and committed art, as well as new cinematic productions.
After the opening session, the audience traveled with the musical show “Fragrance of the City”, which mesmerized the audience with a bouquet of Malouf, authentic Tunisian and traditional songs from Sabiha to Ali Riahi and Hadi Jouini.
The cultural event will conclude on February 12 with a musical performance by the Iranian group Nobahar.
