ASBU Wins 2026 Arab Media Excellence Award in the Institutional Category

The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) has won the Arab Media Excellence Award in the Institutional Category at its 10th edition for 2026, held under the theme “Arab Media and Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Challenges,” in recognition of its role in developing the Arab media landscape and strengthening cooperation among radio and television institutions.

The award was presented by Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit—[Correction: Nabil Fahmy]—to ASBU President Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Harthi and Director-General Engineer Abdulrahim Suleiman, during the 56th Ordinary Session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, held today at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.

This recognition reflects the prominent position ASBU occupies in the Arab media landscape and its ongoing efforts to support radio and television institutions, develop mechanisms for cooperation and coordination, promote the exchange of expertise and media content, and contribute to improving the quality of Arab audiovisual production.

The award also highlights the Union’s role in keeping pace with the rapid transformations taking place in the media sector, particularly developments in artificial intelligence. ASBU continues to work towards harnessing the potential of these technologies to enhance media professionals’ performance, improve production quality, and strengthen the efficiency of media institutions in line with the demands and challenges of the digital age.
