On July 29, 2018, the Faculty of Arts of Manouba hosted an alumni meeting involving former graduates and students from the various departments. They came from differrent parts of Tunisia. Some of them endeavoured to travel from foreign countries where they are now working to join the gathering.
The meeting was overwhelmed by a lot of nostalgia and a sense of pride. This gathering was an occasion to celebrate and refresh good old relationships and memories. It was also an opportunity for the special guests to recollect their wonderful memories of student life.
This Sunday was a real D-Day in the Faculty of Arts of Manouba, as it made a dream of so many students of the faculty to walk again in this prestigious institution come true.
With embraces, hugs and tears filled with joy, crowds of students are getting together in a spontaneous manner singing, dancing and retelling very nice anecdotes of those years of study in Manouba.
Other students did not miss the occasion to remind each other of the Manouba students’ great struggle against oppression and tyranny of the old regime.
The day was also a rare moment for students to meet their brilliant professors for whom they still keep nice memories of discussions, panels and arguments inside the classrooms.
Many thanks are due to Facebook and the Initiative Coordination (IC) members for making this meeting a possibility.
The IC launched a Facebook page under the motto of “lovers of the beautiful time” which remarkably and quickly gathered hundreds of admirers among the students of Manouba Faculty.
The presence of some of the guests’ families and children added a special festive flavour to the meeting. The Dean of the Faculty Professor Abdesslam El-Issaoui showed exceptional enthusiasm to admit and support the initiative. He organised a wonderful concert in the Ibn Khaldoun amphitheatre in honour of professors and brilliant students.
The Dean promised in his speech to the audience who overcrowded the amphitheatre that this gathering will henceforth be part of the regular activities of the faculty.
The gathering came to a close with big hopes among all the guests to meet again.
