PhosCo has announced extensive progress at its Gasaat phosphate project in northern Tunisia, with recent drilling expanding the key DOH discovery and identifying a new Sekarna North prospect. The company said the results reinforce the potential for a regional phosphate hub in the area.
Assays from maiden drilling at the KH prospect confirmed thick phosphate mineralization close to the proposed plant site, according to PhosCo. Metallurgical testwork also produced a premium-grade concentrate that could command higher prices in fertiliser markets, the company added.
PhosCo expects an imminent updated Scoping Study to demonstrate Gasaat’s full value ahead of pre-feasibility and bankable feasibility studies. The studies will be led by newly appointed Project Director Cem Yuceer.
Development momentum is further supported by potential U.S. government-backed engagement under a funding initiative, PhosCo said. The company also highlighted a strategic partnership with Tunisian engineering firm STUDI International, which includes a A$1.4 million equity investment and positions STUDI as PhosCo’s preferred engineering partner.
