A Tunisian startup is positioning itself as a local champion for the region’s digital content creators with the launch of Tuniform, a platform designed to facilitate community engagement and direct monetization. Founded in 2023 by Yacine Aridhi and operating from the coastal city of Tabarka, the startup aims to build dedicated digital infrastructure for the creator economy in emerging markets.
Tuniform emerges as a regional alternative to global social networks, addressing what its founders describe as a critical gap. “Existing social networks focus on content distribution and visibility but make monetization inaccessible or indirect,” Aridhi told The National. “Global monetization platforms exist, but they are not designed for local currencies, local markets, local regulations, or local payment realities.”
The platform allows creators to build personalized spaces where they can share exclusive content—such as posts, guides, and e-books—with subscribers. Users can register via a secure interface using a Google account or email, fostering a system built on direct fan support. Unlike major networks, Tuniform allows creators to retain all their earnings without hidden fees or significant intermediary commissions.
“The platform addresses the lack of accessible and user-friendly solutions for creators in the region by offering a smooth and culturally relevant experience,” the startup said in a statement. With ambitions to become the leading monetization platform in Tunisia, the MENA region, and Africa, Tuniform seeks to reflect the culture and aspirations of Generation Z.
By combining content discovery, community engagement, and streamlined revenue generation, the platform is constructing a tailored social ecosystem. It underscores a growing trend of digital solutions emerging from the region to serve its specific economic and creative landscapes.
