Doha Film Festival Celebrates Global Storytelling with a Distinguished Lineup of International Films

The Doha Film Festival continues to affirm its position as one of the region’s leading creative platforms, presenting a remarkable selection of international feature films from across the globe as part of its International Feature Competition.

This year’s program celebrates the power of global cinematic storytelling, highlighting the ability of film to transcend borders and languages through works that explore profound human themes such as identity, resilience, and transformation.

The competition features an impressive lineup of acclaimed titles, including “Renoir” by Chie Hayakawa, “City Without Sleep” by Guillermo García López, “The Last Beach” by Jean-François Ravaignan, “The Sanctuary” by Pablo Pérez Lombardini, and “Divine Comedy” by Ali Asgari — all recognized for their artistic excellence and meaningful narratives that have captivated audiences at major film festivals worldwide.

Fatma Hassan Al Remaihi, Festival Director and CEO of the Doha Film Institute, emphasized that this year’s edition honors visionary filmmakers “whose works have touched hearts, challenged conventions, and reshaped the global cinematic landscape.” She added that the selected films “reflect our unwavering commitment to authentic storytelling and our belief in cinema’s power to shift perceptions and inspire dialogue.”

Scheduled to take place from November 20 to 28, the festival will once again transform Doha into a vibrant hub of cultural and artistic exchange, with screenings and events hosted across the city’s most iconic landmarks — including Katara Cultural Village, Msheireb Downtown Doha, and the Museum of Islamic Art.

Through this edition, the Doha Film Festival reaffirms its mission to foster cross-cultural understanding through cinema, celebrating the art form as a universal language that unites people and amplifies diverse voices shaping the human experience.
