Tunisia FM rules out holding Libyan elections this year

Libyan rivals agreed during their talks in Paris to hold elections on Dec. 18 Tunisian Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui on Tuesday ruled out holding elections in conflict-ridden Libya this year. “It has become very difficult to respect the dates set by the Paris conference for holding elections in Libya,” Jhinaoui said in an interview with the local Al Chourouk newspaper. UN chief commends anti-money laundering efforts in Nigeria, Tunisia

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed satisfaction with the anti-money laundering efforts in Nigeria and Tunisia. Guterres, in his remarks to the Security Council on ‘Corruption in Conflicts’, noted that the anti-money laundering efforts in Nigeria and Tunisia had seen funds returned to the treasury. NHRC Organizes Tunisia conference on peace issues

The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) will organize an international conference on “Issues of Peace” in Tunis from 26 to 29 September. UK tourist numbers to Tunisia show signs of recovery

The first signs of recovery in UK tourism to Tunisia following the 2015 terrorist attack in Sousse have emerged. A new study of data from the Office for National Statistics revealed a 537% year-on-year rise to 19,000 visits in the first quarter of 2018. Swiver, a Tunisian cloud accounting service provider, raised about TND 500,000 from Compagnie d’Assurance et de Réassurance Tuniso-Européenne (Carte). The Saudi Fund for Development financed 18 housing units in the city of Oued Melliz, governorate of Jendouba.
