The United Arab Emirates Embassy in Tunisia commemorated the nation’s 54th Union Day on Tuesday with a ceremony attended by senior diplomats, government officials, and media representatives, highlighting the enduring ties between the two countries.
UAE Ambassador to Tunisia, Iman Al Salami, presided over the event, welcoming a gathering that included numerous ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions, and prominent cultural figures. The diverse attendance was seen as a reflection of the UAE’s consolidated international stature.
In a keynote speech, Ambassador Al Salami framed the anniversary as a testament to national will and visionary leadership. “Fifty-four years ago, the story of our Union began,” she stated, paying tribute to the nation’s founding fathers.
She emphasized that the day symbolizes more than a historical milestone; it represents an active, forward-looking ethos. “The UAE does not wait for opportunities but creates them,” Al Salami declared, attributing the country’s progress to its leadership and its people, whom she called the “nation’s greatest asset.”
The ambassador further reinforced the UAE’s commitment to its strategic partnership with Tunisia, expressing the embassy’s dedicated focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors for mutual benefit.
