Eleven Tunisian startups will take part in Maker Faire Rome 2026 from Oct. 23–25 at Gazometro Ostiense, accompanied by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) under the Italian phase of Lab Innova for Africa “Luca Attanasio.”
The mission is part of the sixth edition of Lab Innova for Tunisia Startup, promoted by ITA with the Italian Embassy’s trade section in Tunis, Tunisia’s Ministry of Communication Technologies, the Tunisian Startup Association and leading national tech hubs.
The program began with training in Tunis from June 8–12 and includes an October study trip to Rome and Naples. Organizers say it aims to turn management training into concrete opportunities for internationalization, partnerships and access to European markets.
The selected startups reflect Tunisia’s growing tech ecosystem in digital, AI, fintech, cybersecurity, agritech, greentech, IoT, medtech, energy, mobility, blockchain and big data.
Since 2019, Lab Innova for Africa has involved more than 800 companies, including 137 Tunisian firms. Maker Faire Rome’s 14th edition brings together startups, researchers, universities and investors across AI, robotics, agritech, cybersecurity, digital manufacturing and the circular economy.
For Tunisia, participation is seen as a practical test of its ability to scale beyond local markets and connect with Italy’s innovation ecosystem.
