Tunisia will participate for the first time in the Startup World Cup, scheduled for November 2026 in San Francisco, United States, with a delegation of three innovative young companies selected from a broad national pool.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, by Skander Haddar, coordinator of the Tunisia Digital Summit (TDS), during an appearance on National Radio.
Rigorous Selection Process
Haddar explained that a stringent selection process resulted in 10 start-ups being shortlisted from 160 applications. Following this initial phase, three companies were chosen to represent Tunisia at the international competition, where the first prize is set at one million dollars.
A Strategic Opportunity to Access the U.S. Market
According to Haddar, this participation represents a strategic opportunity for Tunisian startups, enabling them to enter new markets—particularly the U.S. market—and to connect with major investors and key players in the American technology sector.
Tunisia Digital Summit Ahead of the Competition
Haddar also highlighted the upcoming 10th edition of the Tunisia Digital Summit, scheduled for April 22–23, 2026, under the theme “The Partnership Triangle Between the Public Sector, the Private Sector, and Start-ups for Digital Innovation.”
The event will bring together leading figures from Tunisia’s digital ecosystem as well as international participants. It will serve as a platform for exchange and collaboration around new innovative projects, with the involvement of experts and decision-makers from the sector.
