A number of Tunisian men and women hosted under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Umrah and Visit Program arrived in Madinah early Thursday, September 3, 2026, where they were received by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance.
The guests arrived safely in the Kingdom and are scheduled to visit the Prophet’s Mosque and several Islamic and historical landmarks in Madinah before traveling to Makkah to perform Umrah. Their visit comes in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who has ordered the hosting, at his own expense, of 1,000 male and female pilgrims from various countries around the world. The guests are being hosted in four groups throughout 1448 AH (2026).
The third group comprises 250 male and female pilgrims representing 23 African countries: Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Senegal, Guinea-Conakry, Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, Niger, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Mauritania, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Chad, Tanzania, Djibouti, South Africa, Zambia, Namibia, Angola, and Mali.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has prepared a comprehensive program for the guests during their stay in Madinah. The program includes visits to the Prophet’s Mosque and Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah, as well as Quba Mosque, Mount Uhud, the Uhud Martyrs Cemetery, and the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran. The guests will also visit the International Exhibition and Museum of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilization.
Upon completing their program in Madinah, the guests will travel to Makkah to perform Umrah. Their itinerary will include visits to the King Abdulaziz Complex for Holy Kaaba Kiswah, the Revelation Exhibition, and a number of Islamic landmarks. The program combines educational, cultural, and spiritual activities, highlighting the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in serving Islam and Muslims, and in caring for the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors.
The hosting of the third group reflects the Saudi leadership’s continued commitment to Muslims around the world and its efforts to enable them to perform Umrah and visit the Prophet’s Mosque. It also seeks to strengthen bonds of brotherhood and communication between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and peoples across the Islamic world.
