Tunisia to host next Arab Summit

Tunisia will host the next Arab Summit, President Béj Caïd Essebsi said on Sunday in Dhahran,

Essebsi said he was pleased to host the next Arab Summit and honoured to chair its work in Tunisia, in a speech delivered at the closing of the 29th Arab Summit in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia,

Convinced of the importance of defending our causes and our shared destiny and the need to boost joint Arab action, Tunisia is honoured to host the foundations of the 30th Arab Summit, said President Caid Essebsi.

We will work together, he added, to achieve success of the next Arab Summit, so as to promote Arab action and meet the aspirations and expectations of the Arab peoples.

He voiced hope that the next Summit would be an opportunity to strengthen fraternal ties and consolidate joint Arab action.

President Beji Caid Essebsi, on Saturday afternoon, arrived in Saudi Arabia to attend the 29th Arab Summit due for Sunday in Dhahran.

Many political and economic issues, the situation in Palestine, Syria, Libya and Yemen, fight against terrorism and promotion of joint Arab action are also on the agenda of the summit.

The summit meetings are taking place at a time when Western air strikes have been launched on Syria.
