Saudi-Tunisian Ties Deepen with Strategic Pacts as Bilateral Trade Soars 38%

A major bilateral summit concluded with a significant push towards economic integration, as Saudi Arabia and Tunisia sealed five new agreements across key sectors following the 12th session of their Joint Committee.

The newly signed accords target enhanced cooperation in customs administration, mining, postal services, and media. Specifically, they include a customs cooperation and mutual assistance agreement, memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on mineral resources and postal services, a broadcasting cooperation MoU, and an executive program for news exchange between the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) and Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP).

The high-level meetings, which covered a broad agenda from trade and investment to renewable energy, tourism, and security, yielded a notable highlight: a reported 38% surge in trade volume by September 2025. Officials credited the jump to the outcomes of a Joint Trade Working Group meeting held in Tunisia last July.

“The committee has called for completing initiatives to boost trade exchange and activate the Joint Business Council,” stated a release from the Saudi Press Agency, noting a shared goal to expand mutual recognition of product certifications.

Beyond economic talks, discussions also advanced cooperation in consular, judicial, and security affairs, alongside coordination on Hajj, Umrah, and Islamic matters.

The package of agreements signals a concerted effort to translate diplomatic dialogue into tangible, sector-specific partnerships, with a clear focus on strengthening economic links between the two nations.
