At a time when travel, accommodation and related service costs continue to rise, Libertà Travel & Tourism has chosen to move in the opposite direction, announcing price reductions on a number of its Umrah packages.
The move reflects the company’s stated commitment to easing part of the financial burden on Tunisian pilgrims and providing more competitive options for those wishing to perform Umrah, despite increases affecting several components of travel costs.
According to Mr. Wissam Ben Amer, owner of Libertà Travel & Tourism, the decision to revise prices downward is based on the company’s willingness to absorb part of the additional costs rather than pass the full increase on to pilgrims.
“We decided at Libertà to move in the opposite direction. Rather than simply increasing prices as costs rise, we chose to give up part of our profit margin while working to increase sales volume, review the scheduling of some trips and reduce the number of nights included in certain packages,” Ben Amer said.
He explained that the strategy also involves reviewing the company’s cost structure and working closely with its partners, including airlines, hotels and ground-service providers, in an effort to achieve more competitive rates while maintaining the quality of the Umrah experience.
Ben Amer stressed that rising costs do not necessarily have to translate into higher prices for customers. He said the company is seeking to absorb part of the increases, improve operational efficiency and benefit from greater sales volumes, while strengthening negotiations with its partners.
The approach is based on a simple business equation: lower profit margins, higher sales volumes, more efficient costs and stronger partnerships can create room for more competitive Umrah prices.
As part of this strategy, Libertà is also reviewing some of its programs and lengths of stay in order to offer a wider range of options suited to different needs and budgets, while maintaining the level of service and value provided to pilgrims.
The company said the price reductions are not intended to come at the expense of the overall Umrah experience. Instead, it aims to strike a balance between affordability, service quality and the value of the package, particularly given the rising cost of accommodation and travel services in locations close to the Holy Mosques.
Ben Amer emphasized that Libertà will continue looking for practical solutions that can help reduce prices without compromising the quality of the services provided.
“Libertà does not want to be part of a wave of rising prices; we want to be part of the solution. Whenever costs increase, we will continue looking for areas where we can reduce prices without compromising the value of the Umrah experience,” he said.
Through this approach, Libertà is seeking to adopt a different model in the Umrah travel market—sharing part of the impact of rising costs with the company rather than placing the entire burden on pilgrims, while relying on greater efficiency, higher volumes and stronger partnerships to make more competitive pricing possible.
