Renowned Egyptian actor and President of the Cairo International Film Festival, Hussein Fahmy, is set to participate in the second edition of the Golden Panda Awards, scheduled for September 12 and 13, 2025, in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. His presence comes in response to an official invitation extended by the event’s organizing committee.
The organizers expressed their appreciation for Fahmy’s participation, describing it as a meaningful addition to the global cultural exchange fostered by the event. His attendance, they noted, underscores the strong cultural ties between Egypt and China and reinforces the international stature of the awards.
Organized by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles in cooperation with the Sichuan Provincial Government, the Golden Panda Awards will honor excellence across 27 categories in four major areas: feature films, television dramas, documentaries, and animated works. The awards celebrate artistic productions that carry deep cultural and human significance, and the ceremony is expected to attract a distinguished group of filmmakers, artists, and industry leaders from around the world.

This year’s program includes “Golden Panda Night,” a global cultural and innovation roundtable, live performances, and an official awards ceremony recognizing the most impactful entries.
Launched in September 2023 and held biennially, the Golden Panda Awards have established Chengdu—home of the iconic giant panda—as their permanent host city. The initiative aims to promote intercultural understanding and shared human values through cinema and television, making it a unique platform for cultural diplomacy through the arts.
Fahmy’s participation is seen as a symbol of Egypt’s commitment to fostering artistic collaboration and cultural dialogue on the international stage.
