Horizons 2020 Tunisia accepts project “Tunisian Researchers” and Citizens “Green Deal”

Horizons 2020 Tunisia announces on its official Facebook page the acceptance of the project “Tunisian Researchers’ and Citizens’ Green Deal” [Green Night] as part of the call “European researchers’ Night 2020”.

This project was accepted after a demanding and very competitive selection process, the same source said.

The project was carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research – Management Unit of the European R&I Horizon 2020 Programme, with associated partners namely the National Agency for the Promotion of Scientific Research (ANPR), Association la Recherche en Action (REACT), Association de Recherche Scientifique et Innovation en Informatique, Association ARSII, Cité des Sciences à Tunis (CST), Palais Des Sciences De Monastir (PSM) and Village d des Sciences de Tataouine (VST).

The HORIZON 2020 Research & Innovation Programme is coordinated by the Management Unit in charge of the European Programme at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It is a funding opportunity in scientific research and innovation, promoting a strategic reinforcement at the international level.

Tunisia benefits from the status of “associated partner” to the European research and innovation program “Horizon 2020”, since December 2015, it is the largest program of the European Union for research and innovation, with a budget of 80 billion euros.

HORIZON 2020 is based on 3 main pillars: scientific excellence, industrial leadership and societal challenges.

The objectives of Tunisia in this sense are to ensure GDP growth and to stimulate a dynamic economic recovery, to create research and employment as well as to put in place a strategy to respond to societal challenges.
