ASBU Festival: four prizes for Tunisia

Tunisia won four prizes at the close of the 25th Arab Radio and Television Festival, organised by the Arab Radio and Television Union (ASBU) from 23 to 26 June 2025. The winners of the official and parallel competitions were announced at the closing ceremony held on Thursday evening at the Théâtre de l’Opéra in the Cité de la Culture Chedly Klibi-Tunis.

The Tunisian National Television Corporation won two awards: first prize in the ‘debate programmes’ category for the programme ‘Iradat al-Hayat’ (Will to live), and second prize in the ‘new media’ competition for the production ‘Tunisia and Malta, memory of the Mediterranean’.

The Tunisian National Radio won first prize in the main radio competition in the dramatic register (inspired by world literature), for the production ‘Les règles de l’amour… en quête de soi’ (The rules of love… in search of oneself).

Private radio station Diwan FM won first prize in the sports programme category (women’s sport) for its programme ‘Championnes d’or’.

A total of 54 prizes for radio and television productions in the various categories of the official and parallel competitions were awarded to productions representing 15 countries: Palestine, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, China, Jordan, the Sultanate of Oman, Algeria, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Morocco, Egypt, Sudan, Lebanon and Tunisia.

A selection of 299 works, including 145 radio works and 154 television works, took part in the 25th edition of the ASBU festival, whose theme was “The space of convergence and creativity”. In the radio category, 109 stations were entered in the official competition and 36 in the parallel competition. In the TV competition, 107 channels were entered in the official competition and 47 in the parallel competition.
