The African Development Bank (AfDB) has unveiled its 2025 Country Focus Report for Tunisia, offering a strategic roadmap to unlock the nation’s full economic potential. Titled “Unlocking Tunisia’s Capital for Sustainable Development,” the report was launched during a high-level workshop in Tunis attended by government officials, private sector leaders, civil society representatives, and international development partners.
The report puts forward a series of targeted policy recommendations designed to drive Tunisia toward more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable growth. At its core is a call for the more effective mobilization and deployment of the country’s human, financial, and natural capital.
Speaking at the launch event, AfDB representatives stressed that Tunisia’s development trajectory depends not just on investment volume, but on how well the country channels its resources into productive, equitable, and future-focused sectors.
The workshop served as a platform for stakeholders to engage in discussions on economic reform priorities and the structural transformations needed to enhance competitiveness, reduce disparities, and build long-term resilience.
The AfDB’s Tunisia report is part of a broader regional effort to support African countries in designing evidence-based policies that align with both domestic needs and global development goals. With Tunisia at a crossroads, the report urges timely action to seize opportunities and avoid deepening socioeconomic divides.
