Tunisia opened the three-day TeleHealth Connect Tunisia 2026 conference on Tuesday, bringing together experts and representatives from about 30 countries and international institutions to discuss how telemedicine and digital health can broaden access to care.
The international conference, organized in Tunis, aims to promote the development of telemedicine and improve access to health services. Participants include representatives from Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia and the United States, as well as international institutions.
Over three days, experts will discuss the role of digitalization in bringing health services closer to remote regions and in improving diagnosis and medical follow-up.
They will also examine challenges related to personal data protection, artificial intelligence governance and cybersecurity, while sharing experience and identifying regional cooperation projects in digital health.
Speaking at the opening, Minister of Health Mustapha Ferjani said digitalization is an essential tool for achieving health equity and facilitating access to specialized care.
