Tunisia plans to lift renewable energy to 16% of its electricity mix in 2027 from 12% this year, backed by a 1,600-megawatt capacity program outlined in the finance law
Tunisia is aiming to increase renewable energy’s share of its electricity mix to 16% in 2027, up from 12% this year, as part of a plan to develop about 1,600 megawatts of renewable energy capacity, according to the finance law.
Under the plan, about 1,100 MW will be offered to international investors through concession and licensing projects, while the remaining 500 MW will be allocated to self-generation projects. The targets underscore Tunisia’s push to expand clean power capacity and attract foreign investment in renewable energy as it seeks to reshape its electricity mix.
