During my enriching visit to India, I had the privilege of discovering one of the country’s most influential engineering consultancies — RITES Ltd., a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways. With its motto “Shaping What Shapes Lives”, RITES stands as a symbol of India’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure development and modern transportation systems that empower societies and connect nations.
Founded in 1974, RITES Ltd. has played a pivotal role in transforming India’s infrastructure landscape, extending its expertise to over 55 countries worldwide. From railways and highways to ports and urban transport, the company delivers integrated solutions that reflect innovation, precision, and responsibility. Walking through the headquarters and meeting the dedicated minds behind this institution was both enlightening and inspiring.
As a journalist invited by the Ministry of External Affairs of India, I was deeply impressed by the warm hospitality and transparent professionalism with which we, as an international media delegation, were received. The experience offered a window into the powerful role RITES plays in shaping not just roads and railways, but the very rhythm of modern Indian life.
