Tunisia’s annual inflation rate fell to 6.3% in November from 6.5% in October, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) reported Wednesday. In September the inflation was at 6.7%.
The fall is a result of the deceleration in the rate of food prices’ increase from 6.6% to 6.3%, as well as the decrease of the inflation in the transport group services to 2.9%, against 3.4% in October.
In November 2019, food prices rose by 6.3% year-on-year, due to the 11.1% increase in meat prices, cheese and eggs 7.7% and fruit 6.4%, according to the INS.
The core inflation (excluding food products and energy) stood at 6.7% against 6.8% in October and 6.9% in September.
