EU wants Italy to up capacity at migrant detention centres

The EU is asking Italy to increase capacity at its migrants detention centers, considered a crucial element in increasing the number of repatriations, in an updated European Commission report on the enactment of migration policies. It is also calling for three new hotspots in the country, as previously planned, in order to register migrants as they arrive. Thomas Cook chief: We want to make Tunisia a top destination again

The boss of Thomas Cook has outlined the operator’s drive to “make Tunisia a top destination again”. Tunisia’s central bank holds key rate unchanged at 5.75 %

The  Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) said on Wednesday it kept its key interest rate unchanged at 5.75 %. The BCT board said that the persistence of inflationary pressures – inflation stood at 7.7% at the end of April 2018 year-on-year – noting that the pace of price change is likely to negatively impact the economic recovery.
