Tunisia will host for the first time the ‘European night of researchers’  on September 28. Since 2005 the European Commission promoted this initiative, which involved each year thousands of researchers and research institutions in all European countries to promote scientific culture and research worldwide. Tunisia hosts PPP forum to strengthen investment in Tunisia

A high-level global forum on public-private partnerships (PPP) was held Tuesday in Tunis to boost investment in key sectors. LONGi Solar, SHAMS to co-develop PV projects in Africa

Chinese monocrystalline solar products maker LONGi Solar will be teaming up with Tunisian project developer SHAMS Technology to co-develop photovoltaic (PV) projects in African markets. LONGi Solar said in a statement that the two firms have entered into a Memorandum of Intent (MoI) with regard to the proposed long-term cooperation. They will be working together in markets where SHAMS has an active partner network, according to the announcement. Tunisia to issue $1 billion Eurobonds by October 2018

Tunisia plans to issue $1 billion Eurobonds at the beginning of October 2018 to reduce the 2018 fiscal deficit, according to official sources Reuters reported. “We will issue $1 billion Eurobonds at the beginning of October [2018] after the IMF has disbursed another instalment of its loan to Tunisia”, the sources explained. Tunisian food trade deficit drops to 82 % in first 8 months

Tunisia’s food trade deficit went down to 82 %  year on year in the first eight months, Tunisian Agriculture Ministry said Thursday. The food trade deficit fell to 162.8 million dinars (58.8 million U.S. dollars) between January and August, down from 886.2 million dinars in 2017. The sharp decline is mainly due to the export of olive oil, dates and seafood. Tunisia’s food exports during the first eight months this year accounted for 13 percent of the country’s total exports.
