“Rajaa” or “The Return”, by young Tunisian director Charlie Kouka, has been purchased by the cultural TV channel ARTE.
Tunisian film star Fares Landoulsi performs the character of Tarek in the “Rajaa” short-film which is the story of a brutal return home and its impact on the life of the 27-year–old Tarek, who is still struggling with his torments and emotional wandering.
The 22-minute short film tells the story of an ongoing self reconstruction. The story of the short film recounts the hard blow and ordeal caused by Tarak’s violent repatriation, after 7 years living in hiding in Italy.
It is the short story of a “return” or how to mourn a stormy past as an illegal immigrant, violently interrupted, to free oneself from its straying and aspire to move forward… despite everything.
Farès Landoulsi, Sondos Belhassen and Selim Kechiouche, form an outstanding group of actors in the short film “The Return”.
“Rajaa”, produced by Le Fémis, which has been purchased by the cultural TV channel ARTE, has also been selected for the Fameck 2020 and the Red Sea International Film Festival.
Besides, ”The Return” has been selected for the 13th edition 2020 of the festival ”Les Nuits Méditerranéennes” in Corsica; a festival entirely dedicated to the emergence, through the short format, of Mediterranean movie talents.
Tunisian Actor Fares Landolsi voiced his delight through social media saying: “I am so happy, excited and proud to announce that our movie “Le retour “, راجع “The Return” has been purchased by the cultural TV channel ARTE.”
“It will be airing very soon, and I will let you know the date of the broadcast as soon as possible” he added proudly, announcing in this connection that “the second good news is that ”The Return” has been selected for the 13th edition 2020 of the festival ”Les Nuits Méditerranéennes” in Corsica; a festival entirely dedicated to the emergence, through the short format, of Mediterranean talents of movie making.”
“The film was also screened in Porto Vecchio,” he added.
Fares Landolsi voiced thanks “to all this beautiful and talented team, extending “a special greeting to the Great Artist Sondos Belhassen who has supported the project very generously with her presence and her exceptional imprint…”
“So that we never forget our Mediterranean identity and roots, long live the cinema in the Mediterranean,” he concluded proudly.
