Jalel Tebib, Managing Director of the FIPA-Tunisia Agency, met with the directors of the Australian company PhosCo Ltd, Tarek Aldaoud and Mehdi Ben Abdallah, Managing Director and Executive Director respectively.
The meeting was part of a drive to strengthen cooperation between Tunisia and Australia, reports FIPA.
PhosCo Ltd, which specialises in developing world-scale phosphate projects, aims to establish a genuine hub in Tunisia’s northern basin.
The company’s managers have expressed their commitment to supporting the country’s economic efforts while exploring new opportunities for bilateral partnership.
Committed to the most rigorous environmental standards, the company also claims to align its activities with the social priorities of the Tunisian government. It integrates local populations through dedicated community structures, thereby strengthening its social roots.
‘Tunisia’s strategic geographical location in North Africa, close to European and international markets, gives it undeniable competitive advantages,’ emphasised PhosCo representatives.
For his part, Jalel Tebib welcomed the move, reaffirming FIPA-Tunisia’s willingness to support the project. He emphasised the agency’s central role in supporting foreign investors, offering them a favourable environment in which to realise their ambitions in the country.
