Over 400 exhibitors expected to participate from 8 to 11 April at the Karam Exhibition Palace
The organising committee of the international exhibition and conference ‘Petro Africa big 5’ revealed that preparations are underway for the 10th edition of the exhibition, which will be held at the Exhibition Palace in Karam from 8 to 11 April with the participation of more than 400 exhibitors from Tunisia, Libya, Algeria, France, Italy, India, China, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Iraq, Singapore and Pakistan.
It is a major economic event organised by the National Oil Corporation of Libya and the Tunisian Company for Petroleum Activities.
The event, as explained during a press conference Tuesday morning in Tunis, consists of the organisation of five simultaneous exhibitions in one distinct session and complementary economic fields, namely the oil and gas salon ‘Petro Africa’ in the Libyan session but held on the territory of Tunisia during this tenth session. The Transport and Logistics Exhibition is organised in parallel.
The transport and logistics exhibition is organised in parallel. Infrastructure, Roads and Smart Transport Africa traffic and Construction Africa public works will complement the economic gathering with Green Africa, where renewable and innovative eco-friendly solutions will be at the centre of the five exhibitions.
Director of the Petroleum Industries Department at the Libyan National Oil Corporation, Mahboub Drider, stressed the importance of cooperation between neighbouring Tunisia and Libya in various economic sectors, especially those related to petroleum and logistics capacities, stressing that the Corporation seeks to develop capacities and develop investments and stressed that the deep economic ties between the two countries and the potential for fruitful partnership contribute to achieving development for the two countries.
He said the exhibition reflects the broad international interest in keeping up with legislation related to the environmental dimension, such as the adoption of sustainable aviation fuels that will replace fossil fuels.
‘We, as the Libyan National Oil Corporation, are on the verge of announcing the offer of several exploration areas inside Libya to investors and international companies, including Tunisian ones,’ he added.
For her part, the coordinator of the exhibition, Basma Hammaidi, pointed out the uniqueness of the current session, as for the first time in Tunisia, five exhibitions are organised at the same time and in the same place, which represents an opportunity to support business tourism in Tunisia and promote it as a tourist destination, as it is annually keen to organise tourist visits for all foreign participants to a number of tourist and archaeological areas in Tunisia.
Hammaidi explained that the main objective of organising the exhibition is not only to attract the largest number of companies in the exhibition pavilions, but also to attract foreign investments and discover Tunisia’s potential in various economic sectors.
Launched in 2007, PetroAfrica Oil & Gas is a travelling exhibition organised annually and alternately between Tunisia and Libya, and has become an international exhibition that has gained a reputation both in terms of organisation and the issues it addresses and keeps up with.
In terms of parallel events, the Transport and Logistics Expo is now in its second edition, the Construction and Infrastructure Expo is now in its sixth edition, and the first edition of Green Africa is being organised.
The number of participants has evolved over the years, with 180 international companies participating in 2022 and 190 exhibitors participating in 2023. In 2024, 350 exhibitors participated. This year, a map with 411 pavilions has been prepared for exhibitors.
