The nuber of tourist reached 5.15 million in Tunisia since the start of the year as of August 20, a 17.5% leap on the same period in 2017, the head of the Tunisian tourism ministry’s cabinet, Nabil Bziouech, said.
He pointed out that this number led to a 44% increase in the sector’s revenue on the same period last year.
The Tunisian government has forecast in 2018 the arrival of 8 million tourists given the improvement of the general situation of security in the country and the gradual return of visitors from traditional markets such as Europe and the United Kingdom.
