JCC 2024: Sixth Day of the Carthage Film Festival

The parallel awards of the 35th edition of the Carthage Film Festival (JCC) were announced on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Media Center of the City of Culture in Tunis.

The awards are as follows:

The “Khemais Khayati” Prize of the National Syndicate of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) for Resistance Cinema was awarded to The Red Path by Lotfi Achour. The FIPRESCI Prize (International Federation of Film Critics) was awarded to Who Do I Belong To by Meryam Joobeur. The Lina Ben Mhenni Human Rights Prize was given to RESSACS, Une Histoire Touarègue by Intagrist El Ansari. The UGTT Prize (Tunisian General Labour Union) went to The Color of Phosphate by Ridha Tlili.

The day also featured a panel discussion on the role of Tunisian film organizations in promoting national cinema. Speakers emphasized the contributions of associations like the Tunisian Filmmakers Association and the Tunisian Federation of Amateur Filmmakers (FTCA) in driving legislative progress and supporting professionals’ rights in the sector.

The winners of the 35th edition of the JCC will be announced on Saturday, December 21, 2024, during the closing ceremony.
