The Foreign Investment Agencye (FIPA-Tunisia) and the Tunisian Investment Authority (TIA) took part, from October 17 to 19, 2024, in the 6th edition of Intertex Tunisia, the largest North African trade show dedicated to the textile industry.
This joint presence of the two organizations is part of an approach aimed at strengthening dialogue with potential investors and providing them with relevant information to support their projects, underlines FIPA.
Organized at the Foire Internationale de Sousse, the event brought together some 250 companies from 19 countries.

The Tunisian textile and clothing sector is flourishing in a favourable environment, supported by the National Textile Pact (PNT), explains the same source, recalling that this pact, signed on February 21, 2019, between the Prime Minister’s Office, the Tunisian Textile and Clothing Federation (FTTH) and the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA), is based on six strategic axes. These include good governance, integration, promotion of the “Made in Tunisia” label, training, infrastructure improvement and optimization of the business climate. The project aims to propel Tunisia into the top five exporters of textiles and clothing to the European Union.

The textile and clothing sector remains the main pillar of Tunisia’s manufacturing industry. It generates 176,464 jobs and includes 1,822 companies operating in the country. The sector’s many assets include its geographical proximity to the European market, the quality of its products and the speed of its deliveries.
