“Coffee Spring” successfully organized on time despite obstacles says exhibition Director Faouzi Ben Taleb

Faouzi Ben Taleb: The next project is “Treasures of the Regions 619.24”

In its second edition, Faouzi Bentaleb, Director of the International Coffee Fair/Spring of Coffee, is concerned about the absence of representatives of public structures and chambers of commerce from this important trade event that aims to bring together the various actors in the coffee sector and connect them.

“I do not care about the absence of large brands known in the Tunisian market, as they are free to choose whether to participate or not, but the absence of representatives of public structures and banks that are supposed to be here to support small and medium enterprises and Tunisian youth who are in the process of offering their best to promote the national economy raises more than one question about the seriousness of these structures in serving the national economy and promoting Tunisia,” Ben Taleb said in a meeting with journalists who accompanied this session, which takes place from January 8 to 12.

“We regret that this event, which aims to publicize Tunisian products and skills capable of competing in global markets, was attended only by MPs and ambassadors from friendly and brotherly countries, despite the keenness of the highest hierarchy to hold this session and the absence of state representatives,” he added.

He explained that the idea of holding the International Coffee Show was the result of the crisis witnessed by the coffee sector in Tunisia during the recent period and its absence from the market, so it was decided to organize this event to gather various interveners to research the causes of the crisis and think about appropriate solutions by gathering various actors and interveners in one space that will be a space for dialogue and discussion.

The second edition of the International Coffee Salon, “Spring of Coffee in Karam,” saw the participation of 45 exhibitors from Tunisia, who were competent in the coffee sector and related activities such as processing, packaging, design, marketing, and management.

Ben Taleb announced that preparations are underway to organize a major economic event highlighting the specificities of Tunisia’s regions and all their potential and natural or human resources to attract investment to Tunisia and forge partnerships to boost the national economy.

He explained that the project of this event has been presented to the President of the Republic and the House of Representatives, which consists of a huge economic exhibition spread over an area of 10,000 square meters, in which each province will present its treasures and riches scientifically and practically, away from the stereotypical image, but relying on geological surveys and accurate statistics, allowing us to identify all investment opportunities in these regions.

“This event will allow foreign investors to familiarize themselves with the potential and resources of the regions, so when they come to Tunisia, they will have a clear idea of where to invest and who to partner with,” he said.
