ASBU opens call for participation in 15th edition of Arabic Singing Competition

The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) has announced the opening of the 15th edition of the Arabic Song Contest until the end of April 2025.

The competition will be held from May 27 to 29, according to a statement issued by the Union (based in Tunisia) on Monday.

The Union organizes this competition once every two years, as part of its efforts to support and promote musical creativity and Arab artists by encouraging outstanding musical production, discovering talents and supporting new artistic experiences, in line with its mission to promote cultural identity in general and in the fields of creativity.

The competition includes two main categories, in order to highlight distinct aspects of Western music and singing. The first is the orchestral song, and the theme of “patriotism” has been chosen as the centerpiece of the songs participating in this edition, which includes the values of belonging to the homeland, pride and sacrifice.

The second category concerns the musical piece, which focuses on presenting a musical piece composed according to traditional Arabic musical templates, using Arabic maqams and rhythms.

A specialized committee consisting of five members with extensive experience in music and singing will be formed to announce the winners during the 25th edition of the Arab Radio and Television Festival, which will be held from 23 to 26 June 2025.

The financial value of the competition prizes in the song category is 9,000 dollars for the first prize 6,000 dollars for the second prize, and half of the musical composition, 9,000 dollars for the first prize and 6,000 dollars for the second prize.
