Second Edition of Larousia Trail Festival Celebrates Mountain Sports, Nature, and Culture 

The forest park of Laousia and its surrounding trails played host on April 11–12, 2026, to the second edition of the Laroussia Trail Festival. Organized by the Tunisian Running Association in partnership with the Manouba governorate, the regional youth and sports delegation, the regional agricultural development delegation, and the ACT’UP association “For a Clean Tunisia,” the event drew more than 1,020 participants from across Tunisia and abroad.

Governor of Manouba, Mahmoud Chouaib, officially inaugurated the festival. He was joined by the delegate of Tebourba, a member of the National Council of Regions and Districts, the regional youth and sports delegate, the acting head of the regional agricultural development delegation, the head of the forestry department, the president of ACT’UP ,” and a number of local officials.

Aiming to promote the region and mountain sports, the festival blended athletic, cultural, touristic, and environmental activities. Competitors hailed from various Tunisian governorates as well as several countries, including Algeria, Canada, France, the Philippines, Spain, the United States, and others.

The program featured a 24-hour endurance challenge, a medium-distance mountain running race, a short-distance mountain running race, and a 5-kilometer walk open to families and nature lovers. Additional highlights included cultural and environmental performances, a tree-planting campaign in the forest park, and a closing awards ceremony honoring the winners.
