The 10th SITFY Grants Actor Hani Ramzi the Samiha Ayoub’s Honorary Award

Ramzi Presents “The Comedic Character: Between Impersonation and Acting” Masterclass for Festival Guests From Across the World

The management of SITFY, chaired by director Mazen El-Gharabawy, has announced honoring actor Hani Ramzi in its tenth edition, scheduled to take place between (25-30) November. The upcoming edition bears the name of esteemed actress Elham Shahin. The festival will grant Ramzi the Samiha Ayoub’s Honorary Award, in appreciation of his unique artistic and theatrical career and distinguished works.

Within the proceedings of the tenth edition, Ramzi will present “The Comedic Character: Between Impersonation and Acting” masterclass, with the participation of festival guests; stars and youth, from across the world. Through the masterclass, Ramzi will tackle his special artistic experience in cinema, theater, and television.

It is noteworthy that Ramzi is one of the most prominent comedy stars in Egypt and the Arab world. He’s known for his sense of humor and special style, blending social comedy with humanitarian issues. Moreover, He graduated from the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts and started his career in theater. Firstly, he collaborated with late Waheed Seif in “I Want a Millionaire”. Additionally, he worked with actor Mohamed Sobhy in “Takharif” and “A Point of View”. Subsequently, he presented a number of plays, such as “Alabanda”, “Afroto”, “Keda Ok”, and “Abu Al Araby”. He also presented special cinematic and television works and has become one of the most prominent comedians in Egypt.

SITFY, sponsored and supported by a group of official Egyptian and international entities, is regarded as one of the most prestigious youth theatre festivals in the Arab world and globally. Since its establishment in 2016, it has sought to open horizons for cultural and artistic dialogue among young innovators, and encourage avant-garde theatrical experiences, with an emphasis on discovering and presenting new voices and visions in theater.

The festival is considered a free creative platform for young artists from across the world. It combines theatrical shows, workshops, and intellectual and critical symposiums. Moreover, it celebrates the most prominent theater figures in Egypt and the Arab world. Throughout its past editions, the festival has achieved a prominent position among specialized festivals. It has become a prominent landmark in the Arab theatre map.

The festival is held under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, chaired by His Excellency Minister of Culture, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, with the active participation of South Sinai Governorate, within the framework of its efforts in promoting cultural and tourism activity. This is due to the support of South Sinai Governor, Major General Dr. Khaled Mubarak, reflecting the collaborative efforts among entities to achieve complementarity between culture and development. Dr. Engy El-Bestawy is the festival’s managing director. The upcoming edition is to bear the name of actress Elham Shahin.
