Fadia Ben Henda’s “Mask of Life” awarded in 10th edition of Arab-European TV co-production “Inter-Rives”

The jury awarded the best documentary award for the Arab participants to “The Mask of Life”, directed by Fadia Ben Henda, produced by Tunisian TV, and the best documentary award for the European participants to “Dancing Freely”, directed by Clara Blazcaz, produced by Spanish TV. The award comes within the framework of the tenth edition of the Arab-European TV co-production “Inter-Rives” under the theme “The Power of Art: Creativity for Change”, organized by the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) and the Permanent Conference of the Mediterranean Audiovisual Operators (COPEAM).

The jury watched and evaluated the participating documentaries produced by 7 Arab and 6 European television bodies.

According to a statement issued by the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) on Monday, the two winning films were selected by the jury in recognition of their high audiovisual value, the close connection of the theme of the two films to the theme of the co-production, and the successful selection of a strong central character.

In addition to the Best Film Award, the jury gave a special mention in the women’s category to Ali Kanani’s “Adagio”, produced by Iraqi TV. The film was given this special mention because it portrayed the story of a brave, active and independent woman whose work is an inspiration to other women and a model for a more cohesive and equal society.
