With the sale of 195,368 tonnes, including 28,600 tonnes of packaged olive oil worth 827 million dinars, Tunisia’s olive oil export earnings for the 2023/2024 season reached 5,162 million dinars.
The average selling price of Tunisian olive oil on world markets reached 26,422 dinars per tonne and 28,904 dinars for packaged olive oil, according to the National Olive Oil Board (ONH).
This compares to Tunisia’s exports of 194.559 tons of olive oil for the 2022/23 season, at a value of 3.422m Dinars, at an average price of 17.590Dinars per ton, or 19.596Dinars for packed olive oil.
The ONH also reported that export revenues increased by 51% between the two seasons, accompanied by a 46% increase in the quantities of packed olive oil exported.
Tunisia produced 210,000 tonnes in the 2023/2024 season and is expected to produce 310,000 tonnes in the new season.
