Projects to be implemented by Tunisian companies in Libya unveiled

The Tunisian-African Business Council (TABC) unveiled on Wednesday May 26, the list of projects to be carried out in Libya by Tunisian companies.

The day after the closure of the Tunisian-Libyan forum, in Tripoli, the TABC reveals that the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning of the Libyan unity government, Aboubaker al-Ghaoui, has given instructions to conclude contracts with Tunisian companies in the housing sector; the first project will be carried out by SNIT housing company and consists in the construction of 800 housing units in Tripoli.

It was also agreed to create a joint commission to determine the state of the debt of Tunisian companies to the said ministry, with a view to repaying it.

Priority will also be given to Tunisian companies to complete projects in the western region, knowing that the budget of the Ministry of Housing this year is 2.5 billion dollars, he said.

The instructions were, moreover, given to the public works company of Tripoli, to cooperate with SOMATRA (General Company of Material and Works) for carrying out joint projects.

The Ministry of Telecommunications has, in turn, pledged to submit, as soon as possible, the planned highway projects to the most technically and financially sound Tunisian companies.

The Industrial Land Agency (AFI – Tunisia) will supervise the study for the achievement of an industrial zone in Tripoli.
