The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) will donate to Tunisia $ 350 million (1000 million dinars) from the US government, to fund projects proposed by Tunisia, MCC Principal Deputy Vice President Kyeh Kim announced Monday.
Kim said, at a meeting in Tunis with Minister of Development, Investment and International Co-operation Zied Ladhari, that the MCC Investment Management Committee had approved at its last meeting the file presented by the Tunisian side,
The projects proposed by Tunisia concern strengthening development and private investment, through the implementation of advanced and integrated computer systems, the development of the logistic system and basic infrastructure and the digitisation of investor services. Other projects concern the improvement of the control of water resources and the scarcity of water.
These projects were prepared as part of a steering committee of the Ministry of Development with the participation of the departments of transport, agriculture, trade and ICT.
Tunisia signed a donation agreement worth $ 7.95 million in March 2018 to finance Tunisian projects to be presented to the Management Committee of the MCC.
