On a joint initiative between the Tunisian Embassy in Khartoum and a group of Tunisian community members, 29,000 dinars were collected to support the 1818 Fund to combat Covid 19.
In a statement to TunisianMonitorOnline, Tunisian ambassador to Sudan Hechmi Agili said: “This initiative is within the framework of supporting the national efforts to mobilize the resources of the Covid 19 pandemic fund and to contribute even with a small portion that reduces its economic and social repercussions on our country.”
“On this occasion, I extend appreciation to the members of the Tunisian community in Sudan for their enthusiasm, high patriotism and their involvement actively in this tidal solidarity burst, which is the national duty of every Tunisian man and woman”, the Tunisian ambassador added.
A fund to combat Covid 19 has been created to limit its economic and social impact on a national scale, the Finance Ministry announced in a press release on Sunday.
The resources of this fund will be devoted to supporting the efforts of the State to protect itself against the spread of this pandemic and limit its economic, social and health consequences.
Tunisians abroad have the possibility to make donations through a bank transfer in favour of the deposited fund, to the Tunisian Post Office under the RIB number: 170000000000181817.
According to the Finance Ministry, all donations will be entirely paid into this fund, without deduction of taxes or courier fees.
