Finnish company Fun Academy and Tunisia’s Ministry of Women, Family and Childhood have entered into a partnership to further the development of early-childhood education in Tunisia.
The agreement seeks to enhance the capabilities of local education institutions to provide high-quality and non-discriminatory early-childhood education services.
“We are so excited to be part of this important collaboration with the ministry to co-create and provide quality pre-school for children in Tunisia,” says Sanna Lukander, the CEO of Fun Academy. “We are here to learn, to share and to co-create the best start in life for Tunisian children together with our local partners.”
Fun Academy says the partnership will focus on areas such as the professional development, training and support of early-childhood education instructors, the localisation of learning materials and tools, and research on early-childhood education.
The partnership is part of a multi-year strategy on early-childhood development and protection adopted by the government of Tunisia. The strategy seeks to ensure that all children – especially those in the most vulnerable and disadvantaged position – have access to high-quality education services provided through a harmonised framework of action designed to promote the social, physical, cognitive and emotional development of children.
The goals of the government are also supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
Based in Espoo, the Fun Academy team is made up of pedagogical and entertainment professionals. The company’s Lukander drew attention to the importance of embracing, rather than bracing for, the introduction of technology to the classroom in an opinion piece ast December.
