Official Launch of King Salman Hospital Project in Kairouan

The contract for the construction and equipping of the King Salman bin Abdulaziz University Hospital in Kairouan was formally signed Wednesday at the Ministry of Health.

The signing ceremony was attended by Tunisia’s Minister of Health, Dr. Mustapha Ferjani, the Saudi Ambassador to Tunisia, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Saqr, and the Governor of Kairouan, Zakir Barqawi. The event also included representatives from the contracting companies charged with execution and several government bodies.

In his address, Minister Ferjani stated that the project falls within the framework of the direct and continuous follow-up by His Excellency President Kais Saied of all public health projects, aiming to support the right to treatment and bring services closer to citizens. The Health Minister also emphasized the strength of historical and strategic Tunisian-Saudi relations.

For his part, the Saudi Ambassador expressed the Kingdom’s commitment to continuing investment in Tunisia. He asserted that this project reflects the depth of fraternal bonds between the two countries and that it will be implemented to the highest standard.

The hospital will feature multiple specialized treatment centers and modern equipment. It is designed to provide specialized university-level services, aiming to enhance health equity between regions and ensure citizens have equitable access to public health infrastructure.
