The Doha Film Festival opened on a poignant note Thursday as Wissam Hamada, the mother of six-year-old Palestinian girl Hind Rajab, gave an emotional address, turning a cinematic premiere into a global platform for Gaza’s children.

Hamada spoke at the MENA premiere of “The Voice of Hind Rajab,” a film documenting the tragic final hours of her daughter, whose phone call from a car surrounded by Israeli tanks became one of the most haunting symbols of the war.

“Hind is gone, but her voice still wakes me every dawn,” Hamada told the audience, urging the world to protect Gaza’s children. Though she revealed she has not been able to watch the film herself, she felt compelled to deliver her message.

“My message is not just words—it’s the pain of a mother,” she stated. “I understood that my role is to carry the voice of the children of Gaza to the world… children deprived of their most basic rights, of their dreams that are snatched away before they grow up.”

The film festival, which runs until November 28, will showcase 97 films from 62 countries.
